Description
Master's programme in cell and molecular biology educates multidisciplinary experts who can be employed in research and development, sales and managements, or public administration. The main focus of the studies in the programme is molecular mechanisms of life. We believe that expertise in modern molecular and cell biology is required in various tasks in private and public sector, in addition to basic research. In addition to the major subject studies, students are encouraged to take minors from the other disciplines offered in the university such as other natural sciences, statistics, computer sciences, business studies and social sciences.
Learning outcomes
Graduates from the programme have deep understanding of basic concepts and theories in cell and molecular biology. They are able to conduct scientific research as a part of a multidisciplinary research teams under supervision. This includes laboratory experiments using modern molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology techniques and reporting the research both in written form and orally. The graduates understand the global environmental, social and economical networks related to technology use and development. They obey high level scientific and ethical principles.
