MATTEKKOK Basic studies in mathematics for engineering (35+ cr)

Basic studies in mathematics for engineering are a part of the core studies of the Bachelor program in Immersive Software Engineering and AI. The studies within this module strengthen fundamental mathematical skills and competence. The courses emphasize logical reasoning, argumentation, data analysis, and modeling. The study module also provides a solid foundation for further studies in mathematics and statistics.

After completing the studies in mathematics, the student:

• Has acquired the basic skills of mathematical and logical thinking.
• Can analyze reasoning chains and verify their correctness.
• Can apply mathematics to make consistent conclusions.
• Can use statistical methods to analyze observations and data, as well as to assess the reliability of conclusions drawn from them.
• Appreciates mathematics as science that supports and advances working in the field of technology.
• Has built the basis for continuous learning in mathematics.
