Description

Intermediate Studies in Chemistry as Optional Studies include lectures, homeworks and laboratory work, as well as independent work. Intermediate studies expand knowledge of the basics of chemistry in all fields of chemistry. In lectures and exercises will be covered, for example, the basics of covalent bonding theories, the principles of writing the reaction mechanisms of organic chemistry and the principles of reaction mechanics, molecular symmetry, basic acid-base equilibria, thermodynamics, and optical spectroscopy.

In laboratory work, students learn safe and proper working skills in the laboratory, learn experimental work methods, data acquisition, collaboration skills and reporting results.

Intermediate studies in chemistry as optional Studies fill the requirements needed to continue for advanced studies in chemistry as optional Studies.

Learning outcomes

After completing the intermediate studies, the student is able to evaluate modern chemistry literature. The student is able to analyze and apply information produced by traditional chemical fields. Students working life has evolved method skills and reporting expertise. In addition students independent problem solving skills, small scale intelligence and work scheduling and professional language skills have advanced.
