Description

The course "Languages, Cultures and Societies of French-speaking Countries" is a free minor for students of all faculties and is addressed to all those who, in their studies or their professional life, need knowledge of the French language and the social and cultural contexts of French-speaking countries. The aim is to enable students to communicate orally and in writing in work-related and international situations.

The programme is interdisciplinary in its approach. It includes: 1) language studies, which must consist of at least 5 credits, and 2) cultural and social studies, the emphasis of which can be chosen by the student.

It is designed and coordinated by the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication (Movi). Teaching is provided both by Movi and by the Department of Language and Communication Studies, in cooperation with European Erasmus partners. The completed programme will be officially registered by Movi.

NOTE! The same course cannot be included in a faculty's compulsory or optional language studies and a study programme. In many faculties, this study programme can replace the compulsory 2nd foreign language courses.
