Course description


The course focuses on writing a scientific text according to field specific academic conventions. The course introduces topics such as planning the process, searching and synthesizing information in different languages, as well as structuring a text.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this module, students are expected to be able to


· recognize and produce well-structured texts according to field specific conventions and academic registers

· recognize and develop their understanding of the scientific writing process including utilizing feedback

· utilize and synthesize scientific information in their argumentation

· understand the possibilities of using sources in different languages

· understand ethical principles of academic writing

The course requires participation in contact teaching. Teaching methods may include lectures, workshops, student presentations, project work, group discussions, individual or small group tutorials and feedback sessions, etc. Collaborative and individual work is required.
