Description

This study module introduces the constitutive role of communication in organizations. Students gain understanding regarding the importance of social interaction in facilitating functional organization, creating organizational culture and enhancing engagement at the workplace.

While scrutinizing the role of communication in constructing well-functioning, inclusive, and innovative work environment, fhe study module promotes UN’s sustainable development goals 5 Gender equality, 8 Decent work and economic growth, 9 Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and 10 Reduced inequalities.

Learning outcomes

After completing this study module, student:

  • understands the fundamental role of communication in constitution of organizations

  • is able to identify and analyze various flows of communication in work organizations

  • is able to identify different communication challenges in work organizations and find solutions for developing workplace communication

  • is able to reflect one’s own communication competence needed in work life
