Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student can
  • calculate EDTA and redox titration curves
  • explain and recall the behavior of galvanic element and electrolysis cell
  • use Nernst equation for electrochemical cells to calculate eq. half-reaction potentials or stability constants of the reactions
  • indicate the indicator and reference electrodes and give description of their functionality.

Working life skils

  • evaluate the importance of sampling and sample treatment on the obtained analytical results
  • apply the analytical methods treated in the course in laboratory exercises and future work
  • evaluate the suitability of selected analytical method in analysis of different sample matrices.

Basic studies in chemistry and KEMA203 Analytical Chemistry 1 or equivalent knowledge
