Description
Guidance counselling covers a wide range of services and activities designed to support people of different ages who are making decisions about their studies, careers and life. The courses provide students with an overview of theoretical approaches and practices of guidance counselling. In addition to international perspectives, the courses provide insights into study and career guidance in the Nordic and Finnish contexts.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the specialisation module in Guidance Counselling the student will
- understand possibilities and limitations of guidance and counselling as a form of helping.
- be able to apply and further develop their skills in guidance and counselling approaches and methods.
- know how guidance and counselling services are linked with other forms of helping.
- understand the important role of ethics in guidance and counselling.
