The SLP Digitally Competent Educators (DCE) focused on educator-specific digital competences needed in various levels of education and in several education areas. Content planning of this SLP was based on the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu, Figure 1) published by the European Commission’s JointResearch Center (Redecker, 2017).
Digitally Competent Educators responds to educators' need for a set of digital competences specific to their profession, but focus is not only on technical skills. The aim is in the use of digital technologies to enhance and innovate education and training. The course contents include all six competence areas that are described in Digital Competence Framework for Educators: professional engagement, digital resources, assessment, teaching and learning, empowering learners, and facilitating learner's digital competence.
Digitally Competent Educators short learning programme followed the design guidelines produced inside the Erasmus + E-SLP project and started as a pilot for that project, in 2020. DCE includes three modules, which participants could study either individually or by participating in all three modules.
