Students understand the main theories of teaching and learning and can reflect on them in the context of their own teaching. Students recognise the aspects that need to be considered in planning teaching and are able to plan their teaching according to the principles of learning oriented teaching, sustainable development and the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation. They understand how learners' expertise and knowledge develop and are able to assess how teaching can support deep learning.

Additional information

The course is based on the UNIPS courses Becoming a Teacher (1 ECTS) and How to Plan My Teaching (1 ECTS). If you have completed both or other one of these courses, do not register due to content overlap. If you have completed either of the UNIPS courses (Becoming a Teacher, 1 ECTS, or How to Plan My Teaching, 1 ECTS), you can complete the new course, Becoming a Higher Education Teacher (2 ECTS), by submitting a complementary essay. This practice is only for those who have completed either of the one-credit UNIPS courses.
