YMAJ1950 Doctoral Research Seminars (2 cr)
Description
Doctoral students are expected to present their work three times during their doctoral studies. These presentations allow students to receive feedback on their research plan, data collection plan, or individual papers included in a compilation thesis. Students can also receive final feedback before defending their thesis. Post-doctoral faculty will also present, so that students have an opportunity to learn from more senior faculty.
Learning outcomes
The purpose of this seminar is to support the student’s research process. During the seminar students gain experience in presenting their research, in receiving feedback, and in giving feedback to others. This enhances the student’s understanding of what is expected of doctoral level research and prepares the student to successfully defend the final thesis.
Additional information
Students are expected to actively participate in this seminar during their doctoral studies. The seminar is organized four times per year.
