Course description
The course offers a theoretical and practical framework for enhancing students’ knowledge of and competence in multilingual and intercultural communication. The course aims at building understanding of multilingual and intercultural communication competence needed in modern work life.
Main contents
- Introduction of different approaches to intercultural communication competence
- Multilingual and intercultural communication skills, knowledge, and motivational factors needed in diverse settings and contexts
- Assessment of intercultural communication competence
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to:
- have become familiar with different approaches to intercultural communication competence
- be able to analyse and reflect on intercultural communication competence from different perspectives
- understand the ethical principles of intercultural communication competence
- understands the complexity, processual- and situational nature of intercultural communication competence
- has developed his/her intercultural communication competence
