Course description

The course focuses on supporting the writing of a master's thesis by promoting students' knowledge of practices and further developing their scientific argumentation skills. Students discuss their research and use peer feedback to develop their work.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student is expected to

  • understand the principles of good academic practices and be able to act in accordance with them
  • argue scientifically and bring out their own voice in their texts
  • evaluate their own text and utilize peer feedback and various tools in the text editing process
  • understand the conventions of thesis writing and know how to apply them in producing an academic text
  • be able to discuss their research scientifically in accordance with the principles of arguments

Evaluation criteria:
The course requires participation in contact teaching. Teaching methods may include lectures, workshops, student presentations, project work, group discussions, individual or small group tutorials and feedback sessions, etc. Collaborative and individual work is required.
