Description
Course content
The aim is to practice the main features of Finnish pronunciation and learn to identify phenomena related to pronunciation.
Main contents of the course
- getting familiar with rhythm, stress and intonation of speech
- hearing and producing sounds and their duration
- developing language learning strategies
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- be familiar with the basics of rhythm and the emphasis of words and sentences in speech
- distinguish individual sounds and their durations, and be albe to produce these sounds themselves
- know their strengths and areas to be developed in their pronunciation and can practise these independently in different ways after the course.
Additional information
Simultaneous participation in "My Finnish" course or "Survival Finnish". Suitable also immediately after "My Finnish" course.
