Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student
- is able to describe basic concepts and indicators related to the prevalence and risk factors of diseases
- is able to define the key study designs of epidemiological research
- is able to analyze the relationships between risk factors and their consequences
- is able to calculate basic risk ratios and to interpret them in studies
- recognizes the main sources of error and bias in epidemiological research

Description of prerequisites
Participating in this course requires knowledge of basic research methods. Degree students of health sciences should have completed the following courses (or corresponding studies):
