The goal of the internship is to acquaint the student with IS practices in organizations through working, and to give the student a chance to apply and reflect on their studies in real work situations. The internship, in terms of its contents and the way it is carried out, should be relevant to the IS advanced special studies. During the internship the student familiarizes themselves with the organization and its culture, distribution of work, as well as social relationships inside the workplace, and learns to work as a member of a specialist organization by applying and developing the knowledge and skills gained during their studies.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the internship is to acquaint the student with job tasks related to the IT field. The contents of the internship should be relevant to the teaching offered by the faculty. In reporting their internship, the student analyzes their newly-gained work experience and reflects on it in relation to their studies so far. The student is able to recognize skills required in the field and is thus able to also consciously refine them further after the internship concludes.
Description of prerequisites
Before starting Advanced IS Internship, the student must to have completed some MSc level courses that are relevant to work assignments of the student's internship.
