Description

The contents of the course will alternate yearly between discrete, data based stochastic modelling and continuous modelling based on differential and partial differential equations.

The course is organized by the network of mathematical modeling and it consists of weekly prerecorded lectures, weekly team works and their peer reviewing and final capstone assignment.

The evaluation is based on weekly team works (40%), their commenting (20%) and final project (40%).

Learning outcomes

Is familiar with several possible modelling approaches, can recognize suitable ways to solve a modeling problem, use them and assess the obtained solution. .

Description of prerequisites

Depending from the year either basic studies in math and some statistics, or subject studies in math. In any case fluency in calculus and ability to assess own solution attempts.
