Learning outcomes

The course provides the student with the following:
- history of the Latin script in cultural context from the Antiquity until the Early Modern Age
- reading skills in Carolingian minuscule and the Gothic script
- basic knowledge of book historical methodology
- solid grasp of the main features of Western Medieval book production
