To familiarize with theories, studies and methods of language awareness and second language learning. This course includes 135 hours of work (= 5 ECTS)

Contenu :
Faire connaissance avec les théories sur l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère et la conscience linguistique, et avec la recherche et les méthodes dans ce domaine. Le cours correspond à 135 h de travail (= 5 crédits).
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students are familiar with terminology of language awareness and second language learning, and they are aware of different research approaches to the topic. They know how to search for information and they can critically evaluate different sources of information. Students can apply their knowledge in practice and they know how the gained knowledge benefits their lingual identity. Students can reflect on their learning from the point of view of sustainable development (develop their knowledge of language, critical thinking and methods of learning and teaching). Students are able to discuss and write about scientific texts in French. They can also work in groups and motivate other students in the group work.

Objectifs :
Ce cours propose de réfléchir à des questions liées à la conscience métalinguistique et à son rôle dans l'apprentissage de langues étrangères. Ce cours a pour objectif de familiariser les étudiants avec les notions de base et les théories contemporaines. L'étudiant saura réfléchir de manière analytique et appliquer ce qu'il a appris dans les exercices divers tout en consolidant son identité plurilingue.
