Current research trends in cognitive psychology are examined.

Description

Different phenomena studied in cognitive psychology are examined. These can include different cognitive functions, for example, sensory processing, attention or working memory. The focus is on human cognition linked also to what is currently known of the brain bases of those functions.

Learning outcomes

The students will know what are the current research topics in cognitive psychology and what are the research methods used to study them. Further, they will understand how cognitive functions are linked to each other. The students will also know how to find information on cognitive functions and summarize it to others.

Course can be used as a part of CIPA module only if not included as a part of another study module such as “Psykologian aineopinnot”

Some basic knowledge about neuropsychology / PSYP120

Study materials
