Description
Microbes (bacteria, protists, fungi) of various environments have important roles in ecosystem function, including human health.
Learning outcomes
The student will understand diversity and role of microbes in ecosystem function.

Timing B.Sc. studies, 3rd year, M.Sc. studies 1st or 2nd spring (even years).
Target group M.Sc. students and cross-institutional students at the Biodiversity Education Network of Finnish Universities. The course is part of the Biodiversity Education Network's study offerings and is offered as cross-study for Master's students at the network's universities. A maximum of 10 BD students can be admitted to the course.
