Description
This course provides an overview on the core methodological approaches used in empirical research, and focuses on the specific methodological and theoretical approaches the student decides to implement into their thesis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course student is able to
recognize the core methodological approaches used in empirical research
apply the chosen theoretical-methodological approach in the context of his / her thesis
critically evaluate the reliability of the research method to the chosen theoretical approach.
Additional information
Timing: 2nd year of study.
Recommended to be taken at same time as LIBEDATA Introduction to Research Data Management (1 op). Students of Music and Science must complete MUSS2001 Master's Seminar 1 before MUPS1020.

Participation in contact teaching. The assessment is based on how the student achieves the learning objectives of the course. Active participation in teaching (at least 80%), assignments completed with approval, presentation of own research material.
