Description

The course will introduce students to the concepts and theory of sport event management, sport related tourism together with environmental and volunteering issues in sport, which will be discussed and applied to specific cases, with a particular focus on winter sports. Students will be encouraged to form opinions and gather information on related to topics to deepen their knowledge in these areas. Special emphasis will be put to the activities of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students should:
- recognize the role of sport events, especially winter sports, at international, national and local levels
- be able to utilize the knowledge gained about the different ways to organize sport in different countries with reference to their home country.
