Advanced expert work within or outside the university, excluding work related to the doctoral dissertation. 

The workload required for one ECTS is 27 hours. In order to record the credits, the documents and hours of work assignments are delivered to the supervisor-in-charge, who approves the credits to be awarded.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the doctoral student masters at least two of the following:

· Professional competence: Development and deepening of specialized knowledge in the field and acquiring practical skills.

· Teamwork and communication skills: Practice of effective communication and collaboration within the team, including communication with different stakeholders.

· Independent work: Learning independent work and initiative, the ability to tackle tasks and problem-solving independently.

· Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills: Develop the ability to analyze and solve work-related problems and apply theoretical knowledge into practice.

· Leadership and organizational skills: Gaining experience in project management, scheduling, and resource management.

Understanding of practices in the field and professional ethics: Understand and apply the standards, rules, and ethical principles of the field in work tasks.

Completion methods

The credits earned from work cannot be retroactively obtained; the tasks must be scheduled for the duration of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences in accordance with the approved postgraduate study plan. Work completed before the granting of the right to postgraduate studies do not qualify for ECTS.

Work that can earn credits in doctoral studies:

  • Teaching: Credits can be awarded for a maximum of two university-level courses. In addition to universities, the course can be taught in universities of applied sciences or other research organisations of at least the same level. Teaching duties are recognised only once for university teaching courses; teaching for recurring courses is not considered as credit-producing work.
  • Research work (other than one's own doctoral dissertation): Requires a clear, independent and advanced role in the research project, such as a position of person in charge or an expert role.
  • Development tasks and other work: Requires a clear, independent and advanced role, such as a position of person in charge or an expert role.
