Description

Topics of school mathematics at lower and upper secondary levels will be studied in seminars. Mathematical competencies with respect to them will be deepened, and pedagogical questions will be discussed with the use of relevant research studies.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student • has widely familiarized with theories and research studies concerning the learning of the topics that belong to school mathematics at the lower and upper secondary levels • has deepened mathematical and pedagogical content knowledge about these topics • knows the contents of actual curricula for the school mathematics, especially at lower and upper secondary levels • has familiarized instructional materials in use and scientific publication forums for research studies in mathematics education
