JSBY1250 Using Spreadsheet and Database Programs (3 cr)

Basic use of spreadsheet programs and the basics of databases from a
practical perspective. Relative and absolute references, creating and
formatting forms, describing data with charts, pivot tables, solver,
conditional and logical functions. Database structure, queries, reports
and forms.

After completing the course, the student will:
- master the basic use of spreadsheet software
- be able to apply spreadsheet software to solve financial mathematical
problems
- understand what databases are and be able to produce and retrieve
information from various ready-made databases


Development of meta-skills:
- data analysis and analytical reasoning;
- problem solving;
- ability to interpret mathematical and statistical data.

Varsinainen opetus periodissa 4. Muina aikoina itsenäinen opiskelu kurssimateriaalien avulla. Suorittaminen palautettavilla kotitehtävillä.

JSBY1220 Talousmatematiikka 1 on hyödyllinen. Mikäli tietokoneen peruskäyttöön tarvitaan harjoitusta, niin suositellaan myös kurssia ITKP1010 Digitaalisen osaamisen perusteet.
