Description
A doctoral dissertation is a research-based, coherent scientific presentation in the doctoral candidate's field of research. It is evidence of the doctoral candidate's ability to independently and critically apply scientific research methods and to generate new scientific knowledge.
The dissertation must adhere to good scientific practice and ethical principles.

Learning outcomes
After completing the dissertation, the doctoral student:
- is familiar with the scientific thinking, theories and concepts relevant to his/her own research
- is able to critically apply research methods and collect, analyze and interpret information
- is able to prepare scientific publications and reports and present research results in accordance with scientific practice of the discipline
