This course offers an accessible introduction to the world economy's historical foundations and current dynamics. The course is a resource for students eager to understand the rapidly evolving global management environment. The course offers a deep dive into the historical evolution of the world economy, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of how past events shape today's economic structures. The course content bridges the national and international aspects of the economy, highlighting the interplay between them. Its contents trace the global economy's transformation from the Industrial Revolution to the modern era, dissecting each phase of this shifting world order.

The course then transitions to an in-depth exploration of contemporary economic dynamics. Key topics include international trade, production processes, financial systems, labor markets, gender roles in the economy, developmental strategies, environmental concerns, security issues, and governance structures.
