Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student 

  • knows the basics of residual gas properties from kinetic gas theory, transport phenomena, gas- flows, and surface phenomena
  • knows how to plan and build simple vacuum systems depending on application
  • can work with applications where vacuum systems are needed.

Basic studies in physics (FYSP1010–1050).

Passing the course requires active participation in laboratory work and practicals. The grade is based on exam 50 %, problem solving 20 %, laboratory tours and report writing 20 % and practical 10 %.
