Description
The course will look into one of the core terms in today’s world: sustainability. What does it mean for language teaching? How does, e.g. Unesco define it and how do those definitions show in language teacher’s work?
Learning outcomes
After this course, students will be able to:
- explain what sustainability can mean for and in language teaching
- discuss different aspects of sustainability, especially regarding the Unesco development goals
- discuss and apply principles of sustainability from the perspective of an English teacher

Evaluation criteria:
Readings, pair/group work, a small project on how to apply and promote the principles of sustainability in practice as a language teacher (pair/small group work) + report. Minimum attendance 83%.
