Description

How do the growth and viability of populations depend on factors such as stochasticity, class-structure, and density-dependence? We study these questions in a context of management and conservation, using computer simulations in Matlab.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the participants

-understand how growth and viability of populations depend on factors such as stochasticity, class-structure, density-dependence

-can write computer simulations in Matlab to study these effects

-know the assumptions and limitations such models, and can interpret them in a context of management and conservation
