Basics of cognitive processing related to language perception and production.

Description

The course covers the following topics: spoken and written word recognition, sentence and text comprehension, spoken and written language production, and language and thinking.

Learning outcomes

The student acquires knowledge about the mental processes required to comprehend and produce written and spoken language. The emphasis is on normal language processing, not on individuals with language problems.

If a student includes this course in "Psykologian aineopinnot", one cannot include it in the Contemporary Intermediate Level Studies in Psychology (CIP) module.
