Content

Getting to know the field’s research activities and through guided working familiarize oneself with the different stages of research work. Learning to use the university’s information technology independently in the analysis required in the thesis.

Completion methods

Practical research training (100 hours) based on an approved plan.Research training will be done according to an approved plan, and it will be reported to the responsible teacher.

Learning outcomes

Advance the knowledge of research methodology by becoming acquainted with the essential research methods used in the thesis. After completing the course a student is able to:
• complete basic measurements independently
• analyse gathered data
• work as a member of a research group

Method 1

Description:
You should do practical research training in 2-3 different research projects (unless otherwise agreed with your professor) going on in the Biology of Physical Activity and / or in KIHU and / or in some other Research Institute with which our staff has an ongoing co-operative research project
Evaluation criteria:
The student must keep the accurate diary about various actions involved (using a suitable table format) including: a) Description of each action type in detailed b) Dates and hour(s) spent per each action (with the accuracy of 15 minutes = 1/4 of an hour) d) After completing 100 hours (1 hour = 60 minutes) write a brief summary (below) about what you have learned during the whole process.
