Description

Doctoral training is based on completing original research of high, international quality. The dissertation research is done within research groups within the department or collaborating research institutes. The dissertation should be completed within four years of enrolment to the doctoral training programme. The dissertation can be done as a monograph or, more typically, as an article dissertation.

Learning outcomes

After completing the doctoral dissertation, the student will be able to apply independently and critically, and in accordance with research ethical principles, the methods of scientific research and to create new scientific knowledge. S/he will have an in-depth knowledge of his/her field of research and will be able to evaluate scientific research in the field and its significance. The students are able to produce peer-reviewed, scientific publications and reports and are capable of presenting their research in accordance with best scientific practice.
