Description

Topics: 1) Exergy analysis; 2) Heat radiation 3) Solar energy (PV, thermal) 4) Separation process thermodynamics, 5) Irreversible thermodynamics 6) Energy Storage 7) Exercises.

Learning outcomes

The student will obtain knowledge and skills with more modern concepts of advanced thermodynamics, from a viewpoint of more sustainable energy technology and more energy efficient (chemical) process engineering, with minimal (or no) CO2 emissions. The student shall obtain or further develop skills on several important modern concepts of energy technology and energy efficiency in (chemical) process engineering, for example exergy analys, energy use of separation processes,energy storage, thermal radiation and solar energy. Additional information

Course is given every second year, Spring 2025, Spring 2027, not Spring 2026. The course alternates in Period IV (2025,2027, 2029,...) with course 424522 Transport processes (2026, 2028,.2030,....) Recommended for PhD candidates. Also for Energy Technology Vaasa and FITECH
