Description

The course introduces students to basic physics of radiotherapy equipment for the hospital. Topics to be included: a linear accelerator dosimetry, radiation protection, dose planning, quality assurance, radiation physics and biology from the radiotherapy point of view, and internal radiation therapy methods.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: explain the common radiotherapy techniques explain the physical and biological factors connected to the dose planning explain the dosimetric and radiation protection factors in radiotherapy

Description of prerequisites

It is recommended that before enrolling for the course the student has completed course 080920S Diagnostic Imaging 5 ECTS credits or has otherwise acquired corresponding knowledge.
