TUTAIN Basic and Intermediate Studies in Technology for Safety and Risk Management (102+ cr)
Description
Learning outcomes
Basic and subject studies in Technology for Safety and Risk Management consist of the Safety Orientation module and the Science and Technology module.
After completing the Safety Orientation module, the student is able to assess risks and examine phenomena, technologies, and their own and communities' actions from a safety perspective. They recognize the significance of the human factor as a component of safety. They are able to communicate about safety topics clearly and motivatingly and identify career opportunities related to safety technology.
After completing the Science and Technology module, the student is able to model phenomena in physics, chemistry, and biology on a broad scale, ranging in size from the atomic nucleus to planetary scale, and in duration from femtoseconds to thousands of years. They are able to solve problems related to phenomena through creative and analytical thinking, using mathematical, computational, and experimental methods.
