MTKTO_FYSOS Specialisation in Physics (40+ cr)
Description
The aim of doctoral education in physics is for students to gain in-depth knowledge of their own field of physics and to acquire the ability to independently and critically apply scientific research methods and create new scientific knowledge.
Possible research areas include materials physics, quantum technology, nuclear and accelerator-based physics, particle physics, and physics education research.
The aim is to become thoroughly familiar with developments, fundamental problems, and research methods in one's own field and to acquire a knowledge of general scientific theory and other disciplines related to one's own field that enables one to follow developments in these areas.
In addition to the dissertation, doctoral education includes studies designed to support research work and provide skills for demanding expert work in academia or other sectors of working life.
