Etnologian ja antropologian aineopinnot painottuvat etnologisen ja antropologisen tutkimuksen metodeihin, teoriaan, käsitteisiin ja esimerkkeihin keskeisistä tutkimuksen suuntauksista. Opittua sovelletaan omassa tutkielmassa.

Aineopinnot suoritettuaan opiskelija
-tuntee etnologisen ja antropologisen tutkimuksen työkalupakin sisällön, osaa arvioida erilaisten tutkimusmenetelmien ja lähestymistapojen vaikutusta tutkimuksessa ja valita tutkimusaiheeseen soveltuvan menetelmän
-osaa luokitella, vertailla, analysoida, arvioida, suhteuttaa ja tuottaa tieteellistä tietoa ja
tunnistaa oman osaamisensa vahvuuksia ja osaa kertoa niistä
-tuntee etnologisen ja antropologisen tutkimuksen työkalupakin sisällön, osaa arvioida erilaisten tutkimusmenetelmien ja lähestymistapojen vaikutusta tutkimuksessa ja valita tutkimusaiheeseen soveltuvan menetelmän
