Learning outcomes

The learning goals of the Bachelor's program in Technology for Safety and Risk Management emphasize the fundamentals and methods of natural sciences as well as an overall understanding of safety.

Natural sciences as the basis of technology and safety: A graduate is familiar with phenomena in physics, chemistry, and biology on a wide scale, ranging from the atomic nucleus to planetary scales, and from durations of femtoseconds to thousands of years. They can model problems related to phenomena and solve them using creative and analytical thinking mathematically, computationally, and experimentally. They are able to analyze risks and examine phenomena and technologies from a safety perspective.

Work-life skills: A graduate is able to work systematically. They can communicate orally, in writing, and visually. They can work in teams and continuously develop their interpersonal skills.

Further study readiness: A graduate has excellent prerequisites to continue their studies not only in the Master's program in Technology for Safety and Risk Management but also in many other master's or MSc programs in science or engineering.
