Course description
The aim is to practice everyday situations and skills and make use of affordances offered by the Finnish environment in language learning.
Main contents of the course
- routine everyday situations
- the role of the environment in language learning
- language learning and compensation strategies in the early stages of language learning
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- be able to pick out main points and manage routine everyday situations
- be able to briefly discuss their interests and plans
- be able to search for and select relevant information from written everyday texts
- be able, with support, to draw on affordances offered by the environment and of compensation strategis to support language learning and to overcome the limits of their language skills
- regognize their own learning strategies and multilingual resources
