Course description

The aim is to practice everyday situations and skills and get to know affordances offered by the Finnish environment in language learning.

Main contents of the course

  • self-introduction
  • recurring routine everyday situations
  • affordances provided by the environment for language learning 

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student is expected to

  • pick out keywords and respond in routine and recurring everyday service and daily life situations
  • be able to introduce themselves and, with support, briefly discuss their own interests
  • be able to recognize information that is relevant to them in everyday and familiar written texts
  • be aware of language learning affordances offered by the environment
  • have become familiar with some language learning strategies and to know their importance in the learning process.
