Description

Course Description

In this course, students practice talking about their skills, work experience, and simple, recurring practical matters related to work. Language learning strategies are further developed.

Core Content

  • giving a short informal description of one’s work placement using key terminology from the field

  • planning and agreeing on practical matters (e.g. meetings and division of tasks)

  • creating a basic Finnish language CV template 

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student:

  • can describe some main points of their work placement

  • can communicate briefly, both orally and in writing, about certain practical workrelated matters

  • is able to create a liststyle Finnish CV that shows their educational and work history as well as personal skills (e.g. hobbies, special abilities)

  • is aware of opportunities to learn and use the language during the work placement

  • has further developed useful strategies for language learning and language use

  • has become familiar with tools that support writing
