Description
The aim of the course is to give students basic knowledge in reaction kinetics of elementary and complex reactions
Learning outcomes
The students should know and get familiar with
• Formal kinetics
• Transition state theory
• Partition functions and their determination
• Gas-phase kinetics
• Kinetics in the liquid phase, influence of solvent polarity and ionic strength on rate constants
• Chain reactions
• Kinetics of catalytic (homogeneous, heterogeneous and enzymatic) reactions
Description of prerequisites
Basic knowledge and understanding of chemistry and general phenomenon behind chemical reactions.
