Description
Various mathematical structures are applicable in cryptography in many different ways. Finite fields and elliptic curves are good examples. A deeper study of such structures is included, complementing previous studies in cryptography. Also, some cryptographic applications of such structures are discussed.
Learning outcomes
To provide basic knowledge about stream ciphers and computations related to finite fields and elliptic curves. The student can apply algebraic methods to analyze cryptosystems.
Additional information
The course is given every year.
