Description

The course contains online teaching material on radiation protection and legislation. The course complements the theoretical skills expected of a radiation safety expert, which are not covered in medical physics courses focusing on ionizing radiation (Nuclear Medicine Physics (5 ECTS), Physics in Clinical Radiology (5 ECTS), Physics in Radiotherapy (5 ECTS), and Radiochemistry and Radiopharmacy (2 ECTS )).

Learning outcomes

Radiation protection and legislation course handles the issues related to ionizing radiation supporting providing specializing medical physicists with the required theoretical knowledge. The course is held in Finnish. The course develops the following generic skills: critical thinking, identification and development of one's own expertise, interaction and communication, ethics, sustainability and responsibility.
