LITJ1200 Independent advanced studies in the sport and excercise sciences (0–15 cr)
Description
Independent advanced studies in the student’s own discipline, agreed upon with the supervisor to support the dissertation work.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the doctoral student will have a command of the key research and scholarly discourse relevant to their discipline and research topic.
Additional information
Completion modes: Independently completed tasks agreed upon with the supervisor, such as:
- taking examinations and/or writing essays on literature relevant to the student’s research field (1–5 ECTS),
- scientific (peer-reviewed) publications outside the dissertation (2–5 ECTS),
- research-based presentations or other publications (1–2 ECTS),
- participation in summer schools, expert events, or other national or international activities or collaborations within the student’s discipline, or in the development of teaching and education (1–5 ECTS).
The independent work and the corresponding credits will be recorded for this course based on the supervisor’s approval of the completion.
If agreed with the supervisor, studies may also consist of suitable study units, courses, or trainings organised by the university, faculty or other body. In such cases, they will be included in the degree as such.
Assessment criteria: completion of tasks requiring independent work.
