Description

The aim of this course is to deepen the understanding of research process and methods in quantitative research with an emphasis on research integrity, and replicability.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module the student will be able to

● understand the connections between different research methods and their underlying paradigms

● identify and understand the underlying assumptions of quantitative research

● understand how quantitative research methods are used to test hypotheses and answer research questions

● apply core concepts of quantitative research

● evaluate the nature of knowledge produced with different methods and its suitability to solve specific research problems

● critically evaluate the credibility of published papers

● respect the principles of research ethics and act according to them.

Evaluation criteria:
Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments in line with stated learning outcomes. An 80% attendance requirement is applied. Grade-specific assessment criteria are introduced in the course.
