Description

This course gives on overview of how games are optimized to appeal to players and make them maximize time spent with the game. A driving force behind online game design, game analytics also provides important insight into the basic game elements and player experiences. The tools developed for game analytics are described and emphasizing their value for game research.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course the student

● knows the main indicators used to analyse game performance

● is familiar with the tools available for game analytics

● understands the ways how games are modified to better cope with player expectations
