Description

The aim of this course is to introduce the various structures and elements which games may use to convey meanings relevant to players and the surrounding culture. Also the strategies used by players to interpret games are discussed.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course the student will be able to

● understand the different ways how games convey meanings

● are able to analyse the different levels and elements through which games construct meanings

● analyse different game types and signification levels, and how they are perceived by players
